Narcolepsy: Narcolepsy is a chronic sleep disorder, or dyssomnia, characterized by excessive sleepiness and sleep attacks at inappropriate times, such as while at work. People with narcolepsy often experience disturbed nocturnal sleep and an abnormal daytime sleep pattern, which often is confused with insomnia.

Narcolepsy-Cataplexy Syndrome.

Nasal Polyps: Nasal polyps are fleshy, noncancerous swellings that grow inside the nose or sinuses. The most common symptoms they cause are a stuffy, runny nose. Steroid nasal drops are commonly used to shrink the polyps. Surgical removal of polyps is sometimes needed. Nasal polyps often return after treatment.

Nelson Syndrome: Nelson's syndrome is the rapid enlargement of a pituitary adenoma that occurs after the removal of both adrenal glands. Removal of both adrenals eliminates production of cortisol, and the lack of cortisol's negative feedback can allow any preexisting pituitary adenoma to grow unchecked.

Neuralgia: Neuralgia is a sharp, shocking pain that follows the path of a nerve and is due to irritation or damage to the nerve, but without stimulation of pain receptor (nociceptor) cells. Neuralgia falls into two categories: central neuralgia and peripheral neuralgia. Diagnosis typically involves locating the damaged nerve by identifying missing sensory or motor function. This may involve tests such as an EMG test or a nerve conduction test. Neuralgia is more difficult to treat than other types of pain because it does not respond well to normal pain medications.

Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma: Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a cancer which affects lymphocyte cells in the lymphatic system. The various types of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma are divided into high-grade (fast growing) and low-grade (slow growing). There are various treatments but chemotherapy is usually given.

Oliguria: Oliguria is the low output of urine. It is clinically classified as an output below 300-500ml/day in adults. The decreased output of urine may be a sign of dehydration, renal failure, hypovolemic shock, HHNS Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic Nonketotic Syndrome, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, urinary obstruction/urinary retention, and Urinary tract infections. It can be contrasted with anuria, which represents an absence of urine, clinically classified as below 50ml/day.

Osgood-Schlatter Disease: Osgood-Schlatter disease is a painful swelling of the bump on the upper part of the shinbone, just below the knee. This bump is called the anterior tibial tubercle. Osgood-Schlatter disease is thought to be caused by small injuries due to repeated overuse before the area has finished growing. When the quadriceps muscle is used a lot in sports activities during a child's growth spurt, this area becomes irritated or swollen and causes pain.

Osteochondritis: Osteochondritis is a painful type of osteochondrosis where the cartilage or bone in a joint is inflamed.

Osteomyelitis: Osteomyelitis is an acute or chronic bone infection. Symptoms include pain and tenderness over the affected area of bone, and feeling unwell. It is a serious infection, most commonly from a bacterium called Staphylococcus aureus, which needs prompt treatment with antibiotics.

Osteoporosis: Osteoporosis ("porous bones" from Greek) is a disease of bones that leads to an increased risk of fracture. In osteoporosis the bone mineral density (BMD) is reduced, bone microarchitecture deteriorates, and the amount and variety of proteins in bone is altered.

Ovarian Cancer: Ovarian cancer is a cancerous growth arising from the ovary. Symptoms are frequently very subtle early on and may include: bloating, pelvic pain, difficulty eating and frequent urination, and are easily confused with other illnesses.
